Packed full of features, the Definition is an ideal mountaineering jacket for year-round Munro bagging, Scottish winter epics and committed alpine climbing, delivering world-first PFC-free waterproof performance in a mountaineering-ready design. Built with a high-performance 3-layer construction offering outstanding protection from exposure, it provides a 30,000mm hydrostatic head and 20,000g/m²/day MVTR for long-lasting waterproofing and breathability in the wettest, windiest mountain conditions. The extremely abrasion-resistant nylon 6,6 outer fabric is engineered to withstand serious use, offering excellent tear resistance and a smooth plain weave that reduces snagging when scraping along rock or ice. Designed to sit comfortably over multiple layers, the jacket features pre-shaped arms to prevent riding up when reaching for holds or swinging ice tools. A large helmet-compatible hood with a wired peak and three elastic adjusters allows you to fully batten down the hatches when the weather rolls in, while a two-way water-resistant YKK Vislon Aquaguard main zip with an internal storm flap accommodates harness use. OS map-sized main pockets, a chest pocket and innovative inverted vent zips are positioned to sit clear of rucksack hip belts and climbing harnesses, with the inverted vents easier to operate when overheating than traditional pit zips.
Cohaesive™ integrated cordlocks provide low-profile, glove-friendly hem and hood adjustment, and gusseted cuffs with anti-snag Velcro adjusters fit neatly under or over gloves to complete this fortress-like mountain shell. To keep your jacket’s durable water repellent (DWR) treatment in tip-top condition, wash it regularly in pure soap or a specialist cleaner. You may also need to refresh the treatment about once or twice a year (depending on usage) using a reproofer. Using a spray-on reproofer maintains your jacket's wicking ability.
